Renovations Continue

Lois Butler - Tuesday, March 18, 2014
We've certainly been working hard at the new location this week.  The brown ceiling is gone (YAY!!!!!!).

Just a reminder - Here's the old brown ceiling......

My husband, Robert, worked nonstop to get this huge ceiling covered over the weekend. Here's a picture of the after.... well sort of after.

Even more coats of paint have been applied since this shot was taken on Sunday.

Despite being an old building right in the heart of the village, some of the original charm has been hidden with newer finishes and utilitarian designs such as pegboard.  We're looking to return some of its former glory and character.  Along the way we have uneathed some surprises to share with you.  More on that soon.

Next up... the floor and the window wall.  Here's a reminder of the starting point.

So we have to sand and seal the floor, and I wonder what is behind those curtains?
We're making great progress.  Keep tuned as we evolve.

And So It Begins!

Lois Butler - Tuesday, March 04, 2014
We will be counting March 4th as the start of  a major transformation.
Today the signs went in the windows.

As you can see, there is lots to be done.

Hmmmmm........

Nous sommes déménageons - We're Moving

Lois Butler - Saturday, February 15, 2014

Many of you already know that we will be moving this spring.  We will still be in Pointe-Claire Village "We're just moving on down the road".

Our new address will be 294  Bord du Lac (Lakeshore Rd).   It is located in the center of the Village and is a larger location.  As we prepare for our move, many wonderful items have been and will be discounted,  so drop by and have a look.  Our present location will remain open until our new premises are ready - likely early this spring. The present occupants have not totally vacated the premises and we have a lot of work to do.   We will notify you by email we when have a firm opening date for the new location.

I was looking at some pictures from when I started 17 1/2 years ago and I thought it would be amusing to show you the evolution of Boutique Lois Butler.  There has been an enormous change in both the store and I think me as well.  Actually, you would not even think it was the same store or owner.  Hope this puts a smile on your face.

EVENTS!

My first event was Be an Angel, Buy an Angel in support of the  West Island Palliative Care Residence.  I was so nervous no one would show up but the turn out was fabulous, and your support  made me realize what wonderful community  I was a part of.

Through the years there were many other events, the largest of which was A Village Feeds a Village which supported a school in Nairobi, Kenya.  They have gone on to acquire their own building and are a vital part of the that community.

Here's a shot of one of our many Sidewalk Sales.

I think you'll have to agree that we've come a long way and are looking forward to the next chapter.
